Our Response to COVID-19

As a responsible business, Abela & Co’s primary concern has been the safety of our employees, clients, customers, facilities and the community in which we operate. We have implemented a strong program in accordance with the most current regulations and recommendations specified by the UAE Ministry of Health, Dubai Municipality, the World Health Organization’s (WHO) Standards and our internal compliance for preventing and reducing the spread of COVID-19.

Food Safety is our number one priority

Our culinary and processing facilities are HACCP certified and our Food Safety Management System is based on the requirements of ISO 22000:2018. These are regularly sanitized in keeping with the recommendation of Dubai Municipality.

In response to COVID-19, we have intensified preventative measures, such as implementing enhanced sanitation and hygiene practices across all of our facilities including culinary & processing centers, fleet, offices and staff accommodation facilities.

Our employees and suppliers are subject to daily temperature checks whilst on premises, and physical distancing practices are followed. We also continue to apply our long-established food safety processes and protocols for our employees such as ensuring a high standard of personal hygiene, hand washing, wearing gloves and masks.

Committed to safe delivery measures

Food items are delivered in temperature-controlled Dubai Municipality approved trucks/van and disinfected daily using approved chemicals. Our drivers are equipped with sanitizers, gloves and masks, which they change on a frequent basis. Furthermore, our drivers will leave your package filled with delicious food at your doorstep and wait within a minimum distance of 2 meters from the door.
